As a dynamic and integral part of the academic and scholarly enterprise, the medical Library is an essential component of the institute's outstanding research and intellectual mission, to educate and nurture students, to create knowledge, and to provide service to the community and beyond. The Library occupies a place of pride in the University and seeks to provide high quality information services, instruction, and resources to our students, faculty, researchers, and staff of the University. It is a most lively place on the campus providing a safe and comfortable and friendly environment that enables learning and advancement of knowledge, and promoting discovery and scholarship.

Our Vision

The Medical Library exists to serve, support, and enhance the teaching, learning and research needs of the medical community by:

  • Delivering the highest quality information when, where, and in the form needed.
  • Contributing to the development of knowledge within the academic community.
  • Providing education to ensure effective use of information and information-gathering methodologies for lifelong learning.
  • Collaborating with educators, researchers and healthcare providers in planning and executing the information components of programs conducted by those groups.
  • Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of information technology and advances in hearth sciences informatics in order to improve the distribution of information.
  • Fostering the use of resources by alerting users to new products and actively promoting the full range of library services.
  • Encouraging interaction with clientele to determine priorities and evaluate programs.
  • Contributing to the scholarship of health sciences librarianship and informatics, and participate in University, professional and community activities.
  • 'Recruiting, developing, and retaining a diverse, exceptional faculty and staff committed to the achievement of the Library's Mission.
